Family Says Neighbor Is Harassing Them With Swastika Flag
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A midtown Sacramento couple says their neighbor forced them out of their home and now he's making it hard for them to rent it out by spreading hate.
The man has draped a swastika flag on his front window.
Jolane Davis says her neighbor began harassing her family two years ago when he became upset with contractors remodeling Jolane's home on U Street in midtown Sacramento.
She says her neighbor's poured acid on her husband's car, tore out surveillance cameras and even poisoned their dog.
She believes the swastika flag is simply a way for him to scare away renters.
"Now everybody is experiencing what we've been going through for years," said Jolane Davis. "It just feels like an unbelievable situation that just has had no end."
Neighbors are also upset by the flag saying it's a wonderful community but the flag puts the area in a bad light.
"It's very shocking you know because typically being a person of color you really notice symbols of hate," said neighbor Patrick Birdsong.
Jolane and her husband's filed a restraining order against their neighbor and they're suing him for emotional distress.
