UPDATE: Suspicious Device Destroyed At Cordova High School
CORDOVA (CBS13) - A suspicious device was found on campus at Cordova High School and destroyed on Wednesday morning, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.
A janitor found the device at about 10:30 a.m. and called police. Sheriff's deputies and Rancho Cordova police secured the area. School got out last Thursday but there were still staff members on campus and they were evacuated.
The fire department and bomb squad were also called out and the device was blown up. It was then being tested for explosives.
The object, which was found in oleander bushes on campus, was described as about the size of two milk cartons.
