Brewfest Pours In Big Business For Raley Field, Cabbies

WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Cabbies say it is one of their biggest nights of the year, with people opting to pay a fare instead of getting a foul.

Faster than you can say, "I'll have another." Most would agree that a ride in the back of a cab is way better than a ride in the back of a patrol car.

"Anybody that drinks and drives is just kind of stupid," said one attendee. "You put yourself in jeopardy and innocent people in jeopardy."

Being clever is translating to cool cash for cabbies cruising by Raley Field's 6th Annual Brewfest.

Friday night was hardly a dud as Brewfest babes and bros sipped on those suds.

Before they imbibed with the brain-altering brew, many made a choice they called a no brainer:

"Guy drives up, I call him when I'm ready to leave, he's picking me up," said another attendee.

Cabbies say on this eve filled with stout without a doubt, it's one of their best nights of the year.

In the end, just like a refreshing brew on a warm night, the combination of cabbies at your doorstep and a cold one on your lips was music to the ears.

And for many, the cheering came with no fearing of the dreaded DUI.
