If the capital city is anywhere on the map of the fashion world, the credit belongs to Sacramento Fashion Week (SACFW). Since its formation in spring of 2006, SACFW has grown in both size and prestige with every passing year. The events are upscale and fascinating, and attract the hottest talent from this region and beyond. Image and wardrobe consultant Karri Grant, a stylist for SACFW, says, "Fashion and Technology is the concept for 2014." It promises to be an exciting week for guests and for professionals in the industry.
Among the designers doing showcases are Yenni Zhou and Jason Powers, the latter bringing special items from his Rampant Fashion line. At the end of any showcase, guests will be able to place an order for any of the designs shown and to receive a special fitting.
Full runway shows will be put on by eight local boutiques, with 12 seasonal looks featured in each.
Karri Grant says that guests will be able to enjoy many goodies throughout Sacramento Fashion Week, including VIP treatments and specials from local restaurants and wineries. There will also be great photo opportunities both on and off the runway, with Sacramento Kings players and other area notables.
Partners and sponsors of Sacramento Fashion Week 2014 include the International Academy of Design and Technology, Sacramento 365, D'primera Mano, Allure, Karri Grant, Sactown Magazine and the California Film Foundation.
Fashion Week benefits the Junior League of Sacramento, a nonprofit organization made up of women who help the community via advocacy, leadership, cooperative interaction with other nonprofits and grant writing.
