PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)- WVU Head Men's Basketball Coach Bob Huggins says he's not happy about the fact that Pitt and WVU no longer play against one another.
Huggins joined The Cook and Poni Show on Friday to discuss the Mountaineers' 2-0 start in the Big 12 on the eve of hosting Oklahoma State, but expressed his disappointment over the change.
Huggins says he doesn't know why it's not happening -- but he wants the teams to play against each other. He thinks lots of good can come from the teams facing off.
He would not directly say whether it was on Pitt's end to decide to resume this series, but it sure sounds like it.
"We are willing to play," Huggins said. "If you want to go ahead and negotiate that deal, I'm in."
He also went on to talk about preparation for the Oklahoma game.
"We don't guard very well, but offensively we make shots," Huggins said. "If we continue to make shots we can stay in games."
Huggins points out that it might be his best shooting team in seven years at WVU.
He knows they are up for a huge challenge on Saturday facing No. 11 Oklahoma State.
"This league (Big 12) is good this year and full of good players," Huggins said. "I am not sure who the best team in our league is right now but they are one of them."
