Woman Shot And Killed In Derry Twp., Police Investigating
DERRY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- State Police are investigating after a woman was shot and killed early this morning at a home in Westmoreland County.
Police responded to 200 block of Pandora Road in Derry Township for a reported "disturbance."
The shooting was reported around 4 a.m.
The victim, identified as 52-year-old Tracy Squib, was taken to a local hospital where she died.
Investigators say three other people were in the home at the time of the incident.
The Westmoreland County Office of the Coroner says multiple gunshots were fired outside the home and a bullet struck Squib, who was asleep in her bed. Her cause of death was a gunshot wound to the thorax and the manner of death was homicide.
State police from the Greensburg barracks are handling the situation.
