Man Arrested For DUI Following Early Morning Crash In Brookline

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police and paramedics responded to the scene of a crash on West Liberty Avenue early Sunday morning.

Pittsburgh EMS, Fire, and Police responded to a single-vehicle collision on the 1900 block of W Liberty Avenue around 5 a.m.

Police say that when first responders arrived on scene they found a vehicle that struck a pole along with a building. They observed that the cab of the truck had separated from the frame of the truck during the crash.

Firefighters removed the driver and passenger from the pick-up truck.

The victims involved 30-year-old Easu Morales and 28-year-old Adriana Quinues.

Morales was transported to the hospital in stable condition while Quinues was transported in critical condition.

Police noticed that Morales smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes. He admitted to police that he had "four beers" prior to driving.

It was also discovered he did not have a license.

Morales was given a blood test at the hospital and was transported to Allegheny County Jail where he is currently being held on bond.

He is facing charges of aggravated assault by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, DUI, and accidents involving death or personal injury while not properly licensed.

Police are investigating.
