'Everybody's Just Hurt' Police Still Searching For Suspect In Stowe Township Shooting

STOWE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Police continue to search for a man accused in a deadly bar shooting in Stowe Township over the weekend.

According to investigators, 36-year-old Omar Harris is accused of fatally shooting 31-year-old Ernest Dixon at Shooters Bar on Island Avenue early Sunday morning.

Police say Harris is accused of walking up to Dixon and pulling out a gun out of his waistband.

"He was in a bar for five minutes and he was talking to his friends, he heard a shot and then they saw him on the ground dead, and that Omar Harris had shot him," said Deborah Dixon, Ernest Dixon's cousin.

Another question is how Harris got past security when everyone who enters the bar is searched for weapons.

"They left and came back into the bar, got the gun and came back in, so, ya'll didn't search him when he came back in?" Deborah Dixon asked.

She said her cousin was feuding with Harris, but never thought it was enough to take a life.

"I just don't understand how you can just hate somebody that much to take their life, like why? Y'all couldn't have talked it over?"

Dixon later died from his injuries at the hospital, he leaves three children behind.

"I would say to him, that he ruined a lot of lives. Everybody's just hurt," Deborah Dixon said.

Harris is a convicted felon and was not allowed to have a gun. He is facing criminal homicide charges and firearms violations.

He is described as being a light-skin black male, 5-feet-11-inches tall and is heavy-set. Anyone who thinks they have seen Harris is urged to call 911 immediately.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the Allegheny County Police tip line at 1-833-255-8477.
