Steelers Fans Headed Back To Pa. Confronted By Driver Waving Gun

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Joey Gonzalez of Avella in Washington County, says he and four friends were driving back to Pennsylvania on Sunday, when a driver of an SUV waved a gun at them.

No shots were fired, Gonzalez said he couldn't hear what the driver was saying, but he was yelling something.

Gonzalez told KDKA TV's Ralph Iannotti that they were on a bridge between Kentucky and Cincinnati when the incident took place. The group had attended the Wild Card game Saturday night, and spent the night at a motel in Kentucky before starting for home.

"We had our Steelers shirts on, and we were waving our towels at other Steeler fans driving by, when the SUV pulled along side us, and everybody in our car started yelling; the guy then stuck a gun out of the window," Gonzalez said.

They called Cincinnati Police and reported the incident and gave police the license plate number.

Gonzalez said the fans at Paul Brown Stadium were throwing things.

"I know it was a big game, but it was sad, emotions were running high, what took place was just too much," Gonzalez said.
