Steelers, Cornerback William Gay Agree To New 3-Year Deal

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed another valuable piece of their secondary.

According to the Steelers, the team has agreed to terms on a new three-year contract with cornerback William Gay.

Gay, the team's defensive captain in 2015, appeared in all 16 regular season games last season and recorded 46 solo tackles to go along with one sack and two interceptions.

Gay has spent nine seasons over two stints with the Steelers. He returned to Pittsburgh after playing in Arizona for the 2012 season.

For his career, Gay has 11 interceptions, six sacks and seven forced fumbles.

Financial terms of the deal were not released.

On Monday, the Steelers agreed to terms with wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey and safety Robert Golden.
