Steelers' Aaron Rodgers briefly exits game against Bills before returning
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph briefly replaced Aaron Rodgers early in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills.
Rodgers was strip-sacked by Buffalo's Joey Bosa and was slow to get back to his feet, while the strip-sack led to an immediate scoop-and-score touchdown for Buffalo's defense. Video showed Rodgers suffered what appeared to be a bloodied nose after taking the hit.
Rodgers, 41, who was already playing with a broken left wrist, shook his right hand before going into the medical tent.
On the ensuing drive, Mason Rudolph replaced Rodgers, but threw an interception to Buffalo's Christian Benford.
Rodgers left the game with the Steelers trailing Buffalo 10-7, but returned after Buffalo's Josh Allen threw a one-yard touchdown to Keon Coleman following the Rudolph interception.
The Steelers were trailing Buffalo 16-7 when Rodgers returned. Buffalo would never relinquish the lead, defeating Pittsburgh 26-7.
