Roosevelt To Start At Ohio's Antioch College in January
Pittsburgh schools Superintendent Mark Roosevelt has been named to the president's job at Antioch College in Ohio.
Roosevelt announced earlier this month he would be resigning his current job at the end of the year. He has been with the district for five years, and signed a new five-year contract last year. He takes over his new job January 1st.
Antioch College is a liberal arts school in southwest Ohio that's expected to reopen next year. Antioch said earlier that Roosevelt was the sole finalist for the president's job.
The college that produced two Nobel Prize winners closed in 2008 amid financial problems. It has since been bought by an alumni group that plans a fall 2011 reopening.
In a statement yesterday, Roosevelt said he wants to explore new directions for Antioch while honoring its history.
