Steelers Re-Sign WR Darrius Heyward-Bey
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver and special team's ace Darrius Heyward-Bey was all set to become a free agent this off-season, but the team has locked up the former first-round pick to a three-year deal, reportedly worth $3.8 million.
Heyward-Bey was originally drafted seventh overall in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders out of Maryland.
Heyward-Bey spent four seasons with the Raiders before going to the Indianapolis Colts for one season.
Throughout the past two seasons with the Steelers, Heyward-Bey has contribute a total of 24 catches for 347 yards and two touchdowns but has made a much greater impact on special teams.
