Port Authority Gets Money Needed To Avoid Cuts
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The Port Authority is getting the money it says it needs to avoid major service cuts.
According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission approved a $45 million funding package for the agency.
The funding was created by Gov. Ed Rendell.
Without it, the Port Authority said it would have been forced to eliminate 47 routes, and layoff more than 400 employees.
