Police Investigating Mount Pleasant Car Break-Ins

MOUNT PLEASANT (KDKA) - Police are investigating a string of car break-ins in Mount Pleasant.

Multiple break-ins have been reported over the past four weeks in Mount Pleasant and Mount Pleasant Township.

Kevin Fox was one of the dozens of residents who had their cars broken into over the last few weeks.

"Off me, they didn't get a lot, but my son, they got his wallet out of his jeep," says Fox.

Out of one vehicle, officials say the suspects got a gun. Broken glass and a big rock reveal how they managed to get in the vehicle with the firearm.

The thieves got some stuff, but so did the police.

"We got video from two locations and we've got fingerprints from four locations," said Mount Pleasant Police Chief Doug Sam. "We believe at least four people are involved. They're going to get caught; it's just a matter of when."

Fox consider this a lesson learned, and if he could talk to the thieves the message would be basic.

"They need to find some help instead of stealing off somebody," he says. "I work hard for a living. I can't afford to have someone steal my wallet out of my car or anything like that."
