Police Arrest Man Accused In String Of Paintball Attacks In Spring Hill, Spring Garden

TROY HILL (KDKA)- A man is facing a long list of charges and five teens could be in trouble too.

Around 6 p.m. on Monday, police noticed a pickup truck pull into the Uni-Mart parking lot on Lowrie Street in Troy Hill. There were three teenagers standing in the back of the pickup truck's bed as it pulled in.

Police approached the truck and could smell the strong odor of marijuana. They also noticed a container of metal BB's in the truck.

The officers asked the driver, 19-year-old Alexander Bauwin, and the teenagers if there were any guns in the car. Officers say the truck matched the description of one involved in a string of paintball attacks on homes and vehicles. Those attacks took place in the Spring Hill and Spring Garden neighborhoods of Pittsburgh.

Officers noticed the barrel of a gun sticking out behind a seat in the truck. They ordered the teens and Bauwin out of the truck.

Police were able to confiscate a black paintball gun and a black Python brand BB gun. They also found a small baggie of marijuana in the car.

Bauwin was taken into custody and charged with corruption of minors, reckless endangerment and carrying facsimiles of firearms. The five juveniles were all released into the custody of their parents.
