Penguins Honor Dan Rooney During Game
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Pittsburgh Penguins honored Steelers chairman and former U.S. Ambassador to Ireland Dan Rooney during Friday's game against the Blue Jackets.
Rooney died Thursday after a brief illness.
The Penguins asked for a moment of silence before the beginning of the game.
Additionally, a video tribute was played during the first period. The piece included footage of Mr. Rooney cheering at a Penguins game, and at the end, many rose to their feet and applauded.
Special decals were also placed on helmets in Rooney's memory.
