1 Person Dead Following Accident Involving Train in Hempfield Township
WESTMORELAND COUNTY (KDKA) -- One man is dead following being struck by a train in Hempfield Township.
According to the Westmoreland County Coroner, Thomas Brown, age 57 from Penn Borough was sitting on the rails of the tracks and the conductor of the train sounded the horn and attempted to brake, but could not stop in time to avoid Brown.
Despite the conductor of the training sound the horn and attempting to brake, Brown did not try to avoid the train.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
