One Attacked, Two Threatened In North Point Breeze Home Invasion

NORTH POINT BREEZE (KDKA) – Police are looking for two suspects after a home invasion early Monday morning in North Point Breeze.

The suspects attacked one man and threatened two other people with guns.

Police filled the streets of Penfield Court just before 3 a.m. for a shots fired call.

When they got there, they were quickly told about a man who was bleeding near an Exxon gas station at the intersection of Penn Avenue and North Braddock Avenue.

Police say the man went to the Exxon to call 911. He says someone broke into his house and hit him in the head.

Police say he was beaten by three armed African-American men, who threw him outside.

Neighbors didn't hear the commotion, but are still on edge.

"It's very strange to hear that there was a home invasion. Kinda gets me on my toes," neighbor Christopher Harris said.

"Everything is normally very quiet," neighbor Lyndsay Avery said. "It's scary that anything can happen anywhere, right? I don't think anywhere is 100 percent safe."

Police say another man and a woman were also inside the home at the time. The suspects threatened them with guns, then ransacked the house.

Two of the suspects took off out the back door when police arrived. Police took a third suspect into custody and say they found jewelry in his coat pocket.

Two firearms were also found outside the home.

Neighbors say they're paying closer attention to their surroundings.

"It's all about being vigilant," Avery said.

"Make sure, from this point forward -- definitely, I'm aware of what's going on," Harris said.

The victim that was injured was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital where he is in stable condition. The other two victims were not injured.

The suspect police apprehended is behind bars at the Allegheny County Jail, and police are looking for two other male suspects.

If you have any information on their whereabouts, you're being asked to call Pittsburgh Police.
