Private Piano Teacher Accused Of Molestation
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police say a private piano teacher sexually assaulted two of his students at their home.
Stephen Grice is now in the Allegheny County Jail and investigators want to speak with dozens of others.
The two victims were sisters, ages nine and 11. The molestation happened during piano lessons at their home.
Northern Regional Police Chief Robert Amann says the assaults took place over several months, but only came to light this weekend.
"Sometime over the weekend, the girls, they had conversations with their parents and they came forward over the weekend, on Saturday afternoon, to our police department," he said.
According to court papers, the older sister told the babysitter that Grice put his hand down her pants. The sitter alerted parents who contacted police.
The girls then told of other incidents.
"The 9-year-old was assaulted one time by the piano instructor and the 11-year-old was assaulted seven times by the piano instructor," Amann said.
Police arrested Grice at Musik Innovations in McCandless where he worked. He's charged with two counts each of indecent assault, corruption of minors and unlawful contact with minors.
Grice was arraigned in front of a magistrate. The bail was set at $100,000 straight bond. Grice has also been ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation at the jail's behavioral clinic.
