NHL Network Analyst Mike Rupp: Right Now, Sharks Are Merging Onto A Highway With A Team Going 75 MPH"

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)-NHL Network Analyst and former Penguin Mike Rupp joined "The Cook and Poni Show" on Wednesday morning prior to Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final.

The Pens have a 1-0 lead and could really take control of the series with a win tonight.

"It would be huge and what I'm feeling for tonight," Rupp said. "It's still going to take a little longer for the Sharks to adjust to their speed."

Rupp said we will find out in the first 20 minutes of tonight's game if the Sharks made the proper adjustments from what they saw in that opening period of Game 1.

"The Sharks have played some great teams in these playoffs to get here," Rupp said. "But right now, they are merging on the highway with a team going 75 miles per hour."

According to Rupp, the Pens need to continue to come out in Game 2 and put their foot on the gas right away. It will show the Sharks that the first period was not a fluke and that they will have to deal with this the entire series.

He is expecting another great showing from the Pens in Game 2 tonight at CONSOL Energy Center.
