Woman arrested in McKeesport after nearly 3 years on the run, authorities say

A woman who had been wanted for nearly three years was arrested on Thursday in McKeesport, along with a second fugitive who was found inside the home, according to the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office.

Detectives went to a home on Jersey Street looking for 45-year-old Leah Saluga.

Saluga had been wanted since September 2023, when two bench warrants were issued after she failed to appear for sentencing in a DUI case and for a court hearing in a separate drug possession case, according to the sheriff's office.

When detectives arrived at the property, Saluga opened the door and was taken into custody.

During a subsequent safety check of the home, detectives found 22-year-old Terron Porterfield, who was also wanted on a bench warrant issued last month for an alleged probation violation stemming from a 2025 guilty plea to a gun charge.

Porterfield also had an active warrant from West Mifflin for allegedly fleeing from police.

While making the arrests, detectives saw indications of weapons and what appeared to be marijuana inside the residence, officials said. They obtained a search warrant and recovered two handguns, including a .45-caliber Glock 21, and more than a half-pound of suspected marijuana.

Saluga and Porterfield were transported to the Allegheny County Jail on their existing warrants. Porterfield also faces new gun and drug charges based on the search.
