Maryland Man Arrested After Being Found In Pittsburgh Hotel With Missing Ohio Teen
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Maryland man is facing charges after being found in Pittsburgh with a missing Ohio teenager.
According to police, Mark Thompkins, 18, of Preston, Maryland, was arrested at a Motel 6 in the 2800-block of Banksville Road on Tuesday.
Police believe Thompkins stole his father's truck and drove to Steubenville, Ohio to pick up the 16-year-old girl.
From there, the two traveled to Pittsburgh.
Police used the vehicle's GPS system to track Thompkins to the hotel, where he was taken into custody around 9:11 p.m.
The victim was unharmed and has since been returned to the custody of her guardians.
Meanwhile, Thompkins faces a list of charges including, kidnapping, corruption of minors and interfering with custody of children.
