Man Accused Of Burning Car With Girl Inside Waives Hearing

SCHELLSBURG (AP) - A western Pennsylvania man accused of setting fire to a stolen car last month with a teenage girl passed out inside has waived his right to a preliminary hearing, moving his case to court.

Michael Logsdon faces 13 charges, including attempted homicide, aggravated assault and arson. His bail is set at $350,000.

State police say the 33-year-old Hyndman man stole the car and picked the girl up to go joyriding. The car became stuck when he tried to jump it over a Bedford County embankment.

Police say Logsdon went to another teenager's home, grabbed kerosene and asked her for a ride back before setting the car ablaze. The second girl rescued the passed out teen.

Logsdon's public defender told the Altoona Mirror Wednesday that he can still challenge the evidence.
