Law Enforcement Officers Honored In Canonsburg
CANONSBURG (KDKA) -- Local law enforcement officers were given awards Thursday in Canonsburg at a gathering sponsored by the Pittsburgh chapter of ASIS International.
The group represents law enforcement and security professionals at every level of government.
Among the eight recipients was Clairton Police Officer James Kuzak, who remains in a wheel chair after being shot and wounded last April while answering a call about a home invasion.
"To be in a room with so many people that I've worked with for the last 18 years and to have them look at me as an inspiration, I couldn't be more humble," he told KDKA-TV.
"Ceremonies like this are very heartening, because for every person who gets an award [tonight], there are thousands of others who are just as deserving," Deputy Pittsburgh Police Chief Paul Donaldson said.
KDKA-TV was sponsor of the event.
