Kevin Orie Previews Trade Deadline, Stretch Run
PITTSBURGH (93.7 THE FAN)--Pirates pre and post-game host, Kevin Orie joined the Fan Morning Show on Monday to take a look back at the first half of the season. He also gave his thoughts on the Trade Deadline and the stretch run.
There is some unrest amongst Pirates fan about the lack of production in the offense. Kevin tells us he would not be against picking up a player to start in right field and give an offensive boost.
Kevin also thinks that it would help the team to add some depth on the bench. The team is in a great position, but they need reliable players to come off the bench in pinch-hitting situations that the team can trust to produce.
Clint Barmes told the post-game show last weekend that he would not like to see the chemistry of the team broken up. Kevin tell us, "every good team I was a part of... had special chemistry." He tells us that chemistry is definitely a factor, but there is something to be said for talent which makes the coming trade deadline tricky for General Manager Neal Huntington.
