Greene Co. Family Found Dead In Apparent Murder-Suicide

MORGAN TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - A family of four was found dead in an apparent murder-suicide in Greene County Sunday night.

According to State Police, the incident happened in a home in the 200-block of Chartiers Road in Morgan Township between 4:30 p.m. and 10:15 p.m.

Police originally went to the home to check on the family and found the bodies.

According to a report in the Observer-Reporter, the victims have been identified as 42-year-old Kevin and 40-year-old Tammy Teagarden. Their children were ages 9 and 2.

"They kept telling us they're all dead. That's what they kept saying, they're all dead," neighbor Donald Bates said.

Neighbors weren't given the details of what happened to the Teagarden family.

State Police said they're investigating it as a murder-suicide.

"I thought they were doing good. Everything seemed fine. They were always out in the yard. I never saw anything that looked out of the ordinary. They always looked happy," Dave Broadwater said.

"If there was something going on, he hid it very well because he was always so nice," Rocky Nelson said.

"I was shocked and everyone I've talked to this morning about it is shocked. Just can't believe it. Not Kevin. Kevin was a good down to earth guy. Do anything for anybody if he could," Nelson said.

On Monday, neighbors and friends stopped by the home only to have their worst fears confirmed.

Many said Kevin may have been out of work or recently laid off, but said he seemed just as happy as he normally was.

"I don't know why it happened, but it's just something we're going to have to get used to, him not being here. We're going to miss him," Bates said.

State Police are expected to release more details Monday afternoon.
