Head to the Mattress Factory for an afternoon of FREE family fun! This Alice in Wonderland themed event will feature all sorts of activities - you can learn hula hooping, make mad hatter hats or wonderland snow globes, create a wonderland garden, silk screen with AIR and so much more. Emcees for the event, Tom Sarver and Mike Cuccaro of Puppet Happening lead you through all the happenings at the event. You'll also get to enjoy the cool music of the Northside Urban Pathways Sounds of Steel or The Options! Hungry? Tacos, smoothies and lemonade will be available for purchase.

Greek Food Festivals are a huge Summer tradition in the 'Burgh! They offer authentic, delicious eats, and often provide entertainment as well. Holy Cross in Mt. Lebanon his hosting their Greek Food Festival now through Saturday, and Holy Dormition in Oakmont is holding theirs next Friday through Sunday. Some personal favorites include Moussaka, an amazing combination of eggplant, ground beef and/or lamb, potatoes, and bechamel sauce, Loukoumathes, a donut ball-like pastry spiced with cinnamon with a honey syrup, and the ever-famous baklava sundae... no explanation necessary! Either way, you'll know where to find me.

Urban gardens are gaining huge popularity, and Lawrenceville opens up their many gardens to the public for free this Saturday. The tour begins at the Lawrenceville Organic Community Garden located in Allegheny Cemetery, which is where you can pick up free maps of participating gardens. Thirteen gardens are featured on the self-guided tour this year, including two community gardens and the Lawrenceville Farmers Market. Other highlights include Fractal Farm, a hydroponic herbs & vegetable grower, and the edible garden located at the Lawrenceville Branch of the Carnegie Library. Check out these beautiful gardens in the middle of the city!
