Former Steeler Larry Foote: Make No Mistake, The Pats Cheated

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - Arizona Cardinals, and former Steelers Linebacker, Larry Foote joined The Cook and Poni Show on Friday and he had some harsh words for the New England Patriots.

"Make no mistake about it, they cheat," Foote said. "I kind of look at it like that very attractive girl that for some reason doesn't think she is attractive, no matter how many people tell her how beautiful she is, she still doesn't believe it and that is how I look at it with Belichick and Brady. They are arguably the best coach ever and quarterback ever, but they still look for ways to cheat."

Foote doesn't think that Brady and Belichick will ever get that crown of "best ever" for anything because of the scandals that have followed them.

"Not in my book," Foote said. "I still feel like in '04 I should have another Super Bowl ring on my finger, but I had a feeling they knew our plays before the ball was snapped."

Foote says the Patriots need to be punished over this incident if it's proven that they cheated -- and it should start at the top with the owner.

"I feel bad for those guys," Foote said. "Mainly when you are a Super Bowl champ, you get to poke your chest out against former players and your peers. That's what it's really about, and now you can't do that because 10 years from now I will still look at those guys -- and I don't think you truly earned it."
