PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Former prisoner of war Jessica Lynch was in Fayette County today where she and other local veterans were honored.
Dozens of motorcyclists accompanied Lynch as she crossed the Pennsylvania border Sunday.
They rode with her into Uniontown for a service and to present a flag to a war widow.
"Today was just talking about perseverance and no matter what life throws at you, no matter what obstacles, struggles or heart aches, you persevere, never give up, have that inner strength," Lynch said.
Jessica Lynch was also promoting her new movie "Virtuous."
Lynch was captured by Iraqi forces in March of 2003. She was rescued a week later.
Her rescue was the first of an American POW since World War II and the first ever of a woman.
