Flag Day Celebrated Today
Today is Flag Day - the day we celebrate the adoption of the United States flag.President Woodrow Wilson issued the proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day in 1916. While not an official federal holiday, Pennsylvania took a special place in Flag Day history when it became the first and only state to proclaim the day a state holiday in 1937.
