FORWARD TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - A fire caused major damage to a trailer home in Forward Township early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters were called to the vacant home on Allison Drive around 1:45 a.m. An official at the scene said the flames were around 20 to 25 feet high at one point, and traveled fast through a garage and the trailer.
"One issue we did have was low water pressure," said Forward Township Volunteer Fire Department Chief Steven Pierce. "So, we had to call in some tankers for additional water."
The fire was under control by 3 a.m. No one was hurt.
For Bobbie Jo Speicher, this fire is concerning.
"It's scary, nobody wants to have to feel that kind of fear," she said. "We live just across the way there. We felt the heat from the flames when I stepped out and my kids' bedroom is right there, so it's nervous. I'm nervous about it."
She's also concerned because this is the third fire in an abandoned house the neighborhood has seen in just six months.
But, that's not all.
In the last three days, there have been other incidents. There was a chunk of 2x4 thrown at her house and it damaged a piece of her property. The following day, another neighbor had her tires slashed.
Neighbors said that the Forward Township Police Department is investigating some of those incidents.
Meanwhile the fire marshal will determine the cause of this fire.
