Three vehicles were involved in the crash. It happened around 7:30 on Sunday evening.

Police say Littlejohn was driving West on Route 30 in a Chrysler 200 when someone inside a Nissan Altima fired shots into the Chrysler, causing the crash.

After the two vehicles went into the eastbound lanes, a Jeep Compass crashed into the Nissan head-on.

Eleven people, including five children, were taken to the hospital.

The children ranged in ages from 2 years old to 10 years old. One of those injured was a newborn girl.

"Very scary situation," said Inspector Andrew Schurman with Allegheny County Police.

"It could have been a lot worse. Especially with young children in two of the three cars."

One man, in the Nissan Altima, fled the scene before first responders arrived.

Allegheny County Police have two suspects in the crash.

They say 22-year-old Tyrone Freeman was taken into custody. After receiving treatment, he will be taken to the Allegheny County Jail.

Erik Addison allegedly fled the scene and police are continuing to look for him. He's described as a 23-year-old male who is 6 feet and 4 inches tall, weighing about 260 pounds.

Freeman and Addison are facing multiple charges, including criminal homicide, aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person.

Littlejohn was a coach for the Hill District Rebels, a youth football organization.

A friend from the organization said:

"Richard Littlejohn was a great man, great father and a great friend. He cared about all and would give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need. This is a very tough loss for many. He was a true motivator and super passionate about giving back to the youth. His laughter brought joy to all. He will be missed dearly."

County Police Homicide Detectives and Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating.

Police plan to file charges.

They did not release the conditions of the injured people or a possible motive.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Allegheny County Police at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.
