TRANSCRIPT: Cave Painting with George Williams

Welcome Back to JP Roofing Fan Nation...

Now, To say that George Williams has made a significant impact on the students of Seneca Valley school district would be an understatement...

As a 26-year educator and coach, his unique combination of artistic and athletic ability has left an indelible mark on the lives of his students, players, and 412-fans alike...

 Coach Roman

"He's just very intense. He doesn't look like an intense guy. But he leads by example."

"The obstacles and hurdles that Coach managed made this a special season. And he deserves everything. He deserves all the credit."

Credit for what? For managing to hold together the Seneca Valley Boy's Varsity Soccer team during the covid crisis and leading them to their first-ever state title...

"We were allowed to have a season... I kept saying we get to play soccer today..."

Despite the challenges, SV made it to the WPIALS... Down by 2 goals at halftime, their destiny never seemed in doubt...

"One of them looked at me and said, "Coach we got this" … They won that game in dramatic fashion in double overtime..."

" the end, it was great to lift that trophy and win states at Hershey."

"In tribute to his team, George puts his other passion on exhibit for team captains Samuel Defabbo, Zack Lavalle, and Chase Thomas... And don't blink or you might miss it... This is called speed painting..."

"I had never been much of a painter... I liked drawing with pencil and paper and that's when it flipped over..."

Remember George was well into his 20's when he first started painting at all! Now his left and right hands work "inn" harmony...

"I think over the years my favorite subject has been Sidney Crosby... The look on his face. The concentration. It's very competitive. It's very focused. And it's something that I think inspires as it does when you watch him play. I mean it is amazing to watch him do what he does. And hopefully, when you look at the painting you can see a little bit of that."

He has skills! For leading his team to states, George was named Coach of the Year.
