Fire At Longview Power Plant In W. Va. Causes Evacuations
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Firefighters were at a methane gas fire at a power plant in Monongalia County, West Virginia.
An evacuation order was issued for a 1 mile radius around the Longview Power Plant in Maidsville, north of Morgantown and just over the border from Pennsylvania.
However, the evacuation order has since been lifted.
Anyone in the 1 mile area is being asked to evacuate toward Route 100.
A shelter has been set up at the Granville Fire Social Hall in Granville.
Right now there are no reported injuries and all employees have been safely evacuated.
