Duquesne Extends Winning Streak To 11
PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) - The Duquesne Dukes extended their winning streak to 11 games Wednesday night with help coming from all five of their starters.
Forward Bill Clark led the team with 23 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. B.J Monteiro added 19 points, Mike Talley 12, and 10 points from both T.J. McConnell and Damian Saunders.
During their current winning streak, the Dukes (16-5, 8-0) have beaten every opponent by double digits.
The Duquesne defense held the George Washington Colonials to 31 points in the first half and 28 in the second. They also forced 26 turnovers.
The win combined with Xavier's loss to Charlotte, puts the Dukes in sole possession of first place in the Atlantic 10 conference.
The Dukes will host Xavier at home on Feb. 13.
