Delmont Woman Accused Of Stealing $15K From PTO
MURRYSVILLE (KDKA) -- A Delmont woman is accused of stealing nearly $15,000 from children's organizations.
Elizabeth Kindelberger, 41, allegedly took about $10,000 from the Heritage Elementary School PTO, when she was serving as president of the organization.
She's also accused of taking about $4,000 from the Allegheny Force Football Club, a soccer program that competes across the area.
Kindelberger even made up stories to cover her actions. In one case she created a fake letter from a bank. In the other case, she claimed to have invested the missing money to benefit the soccer team.
The investigation was initiated after other parents in the PTO noticed an apparent attempt to steal money.
It was an extensive investigation by Murrysville Police, who praised the PTO for their help during the investigation.
Kindelberger is free on $10,000 unsecured bond.
Murrysville Police Chief Tom Seefeld calls the case "disheartening."
He says Kindelberger's alleged acts are not indicative of most parent organizations.
