Congregation To Celebrate Easter Without Home Church Building

OHIOPYLE (KDKA) -- This is the first Easter weekend since the Mill Run United Methodist Church in Fayette County burned down in February.

Some members joined a Good Friday service at their sister church in Ohiopyle. They'll spend Easter in temporary quarters at Camp Christian.

But the Mill Run church family is anxious to have a home of their own again.

Members say losing a place with so many memories is very emotional. The church was more than 100 years old, and members had just completed a five-year renovation.

Fire investigators were able to rule out arson, but unable to determine anything more about the cause.

The church site has been leveled, except for some large stones.

Church members are wearing wrist bands to show their unity.

They're glad to be together this Easter, but some say this be an especially emotional holiday.
