CARMICHAELS, Pa. (KDKA) - Three people were hospitalized after a shootout outside a gas station in Greene County.

Gunfire erupted after five people got into a fight outside the Circle K in Carmichaels, Greene County District Attorney David Russo said Thursday.

"From what we know right now, there was an altercation earlier in the day, four individuals in one vehicle and one individual in another vehicle. We do know that there was gunfire exchanged between the individuals," Russo said.

Officials said all suspects have been taken into custody, and the district attorney said charges are forthcoming.

"All at once, we heard the shots, about 10 or 12 shots," witness Bernie Curincak said.

"We look towards the Circle K and there was what three people running," Curincak added.

Police's investigation in the Circle K parking lot focused around a white car, where multiple coffee cups appeared to be marking shell casings on the ground. There was a bullet hole in the back of the car, and its back tire was blown out.

Detectives had a large area around the gas station cordoned off as they collected evidence. Police also collected evidence in an alleyway near the gas station.

Neighbors told KDKA's Erika Stanish they heard about a dozen gunshots.

There was no word on the victims' conditions or the motive behind the shooting.

Russo said state police are investigating. "I have full faith that they will bring resolution to this matter," he said.
