Carnegie Library Of Pittsburgh French Conversation Club
4400 Forbes Ave.
Pittsburgh, PA 15213
412-622-3114
www.carnegielibrary.org

Held on the first and third Thursdays of each month, this relaxed, casual group is free to participate in, with no pre-registration required. Simply show up to the Directors Conference Room from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. to hone your prior knowledge of the French language. Converse with like minded folk, and bandy French terms and phrases around to glean a better knowledge of tone, accent and enunciation - not to mention those pesky feminine pronouns. Oui, oui! Not conversant in French, but have prior background from high school or online? Why not check this club out for an immersive learning experience? Learning languages by immersion is one of the best and most intuitive ways to learn to speak a language casually and conversationally. With the heavy emphasis on the spoken French word in this club, you'll be ordering your croissants in no time at all!

These classes are inexpensive, super casual, and set in a variety of locations throughout the Pittsburgh area. Each class aims to improve communication between deaf youth and their hearing family and friends through meeting one evening per week for 10 weeks for 90 minute sessions. The classes are taught by a deaf adult whose primary mode of communication is ASL - very little speech is encouraged in each session.
