Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested

MOUNT OLIVER (KDKA)- Sheriff's deputies arrested a local man who faces charges of attempted murder early Tuesday morning.

Joel Adcock, 32, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. at an apartment in the 100-block of Ormsby Avenue.

Police say back in March, Adcock attacked a female neighbor because he was upset she asked his girlfriend to try and keep the noise down.

Adcock allegedly hit the woman in the face and kicked her several times. He then is accused of grabbing her by the throat and choking her, cutting off her air supply. Police say Adcock threatened to kill her.

"The neighbor complained about the loud music and it being loud in the apartment, and he suddenly started beating the woman. He dragged her out, punched her, kicked her, choked her," said Allegheny County Sheriff William Mullen. "And the woman described the attack as if she was going to die."

He is facing charges of criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and terroristic threats in that incident.

He was released from the Allegheny County Jail on pre-trial house arrest at a home in McKees Rocks back in November.

This past Friday, police were called to the 1600-block of Poplar Street in reference to a man attacking a woman.

The caller said Adcock had assaulted her because he was upset she had confronted him for yelling at her child.

The victim then told police that Adcock choked her and threw her down on the ground.

Adcock ran from the scene.

On Monday afternoon, an arrest warrant was issued for Adcock for violating his bond conditions. Deputies checked several locations before determining he may have been trying to get back into his original apartment in Mt. Oliver, where the original assault had taken place.

Deputies observed him entering the apartment through a rear door. They arrested him inside the apartment.

He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail where he faces a long list of new charges, including aggravated assault and harassment.

He is being held without bond.

While deputies took Adcock into custody, they made a second, separate arrest.

They found 37-year-old Daniel Goscinski hiding in a basement closet. Authorities say he just happened to be in the same building visiting friend.

He was wanted for escaping from the Renewal Center on Dec. 27, where he was serving time for receiving stolen property.

Goscinski is also being held without bond.
