Attempted child luring incident in Mt Lebanon.

Mt Lebanon Police Release:

On Wednesday July 28, 2010 at 12:24 pm, an 11 yr old female was walking on Hazel Drive in Mt. Lebanon when she was approached by a vehicle with two male occupants. The victim's account of the incident indicates that the vehicle was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Hemlock Drive and Hazel Drive, when the front seat passenger asked the female to get into the car and go for a ride.  The female declined, to which the male continued to ask, "Why don't you?"  The female continued to decline the male's requests, eventually running down Hemlock toward Jefferson Drive, in the direction of a relative's house.  At no time did the males exit the vehicle or attempt to force the 11 yr old into the car.

The vehicle is described as:

Small, Black-colored, four-door Sedan

 The passenger is described as:

White male, in his 20's, with brown hair, and slight facial stubble, wearing sunglasses

 The driver is described as:

White male, in his 20's, taller, with blond hair

The Mt. Lebanon Police Department is continuing to investigate, and will provide further details as they become available.

Parents are reminded to discuss these types of incidents with their children, stressing never to enter anyone's vehicle unless it has been previously discussed and approved by a parent or guardian.  The victim in this incident responded extremely well by saying, "No" and running to somewhere safe.
