Police Arrest Suspect In Deadly Hit And Run In Bell Acres

BELL ACRES (KDKA) -- Allegheny County Police have arrested 33-year-old Justin Michael Miller for his involvement in a fatal hit and run.

According to Allegheny County Police, just before 12:30 on Saturday, a cyclist was hit by a green Ford pick-up truck. When they arrived on the scene, they found 51-year-old Curtis Brown severely injured.

He was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital by helicopter and was pronounced dead.

Allegheny County Police detectives were made aware that the Franklin Park Police received a call just after 12:00 p.m. of an erratic driver traveling down Nicholson Road near State Route 910.

This information relayed to Bell Acres and Leet Township Police.

Leet Township Police spotted the green Ford pick-up truck on Ambridge Road and they stopped it in the area of Boyle Road.

Police determined the truck was traveling west in the eastbound lane when it hit the cyclist, who was traveling east, making it a head-on collision. According to the criminal complaint, Miller had been under the influence of heroin while driving and was carrying an expired license.

Miller was taken into custody and taken to the Allegheny County Police Headquarters.

He is being charged with homicide by motor vehicle while DUI, DUI, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, fleeing and eluding, and driving under suspension.
