Police Arrest 2 Men In Alleged Attempted Luring

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Allegheny County police have arrested two men in connection with the alleged attempted luring of a 16-year-old girl and 11-year-old girl in Rankin earlier this week.

Authorities say the incident happened Wednesday night in Hawkins Village.

Investigators report that 35-year-old Shane Dockstader and 28-year-old Timothy Rogers are facing charges of harassment, attempted luring and criminal conspiracy.

According to Allegheny County police, the two men were in town doing construction work at Edgewood Town Center and went to Hawkins Village Wednesday evening in their company pickup truck.

"They initially said that they were at a strip club and they were drinking and they were looking to get some more… some cocaine," said Lt. Jeffrey Korczyk, of the Allegheny County Police Department. "They gave some, I guess, self-serving explanations as to how they got there. Initially, 'well, we were lost;' but then they admitted that they were there for cocaine. We also believe based on the comments they made to the girls to lure one of them to have sex with them."

One of the suspects said that it was just a misunderstanding.

"[It's a] big mistake," said Dockstader. "Yes, I was there, but I was not trying to approach any young child."

The suspects were taken into custody when an Edgewood police officer saw photos of the suspects' vehicle parked at Edgewood Town Center. Authorities say the officer conducted some surveillance and was able to detain the two suspects.
