Aaron Hoover's IPA Day Recipes
Chef Aaron Hoover stopped by Pittsburgh Today Live today to show off some recipes that are perfect for celebrating IPA Day!
IPA Pickles
- Cider Vinegar 1 c
- Garlic cloves, smashed 6 ea
- Salt 2T
- Sugar 1 T
- Peppercorns 1 T
- Mustard seed 1 T
- IPA 12 oz
- Seedless cucumbers, sliced 2 ea
- Fresno peppers, deseeded, sliced 8 oz
Add vinegar, garlic, salt, sugar, peppercorns, and mustard seed to a small saucepan and heat until sugar and salt is dissolved. Remove from heat and add IPA. Place cucumbers and peppers in jars or a nonreactive container with a lid and pour brine over to cover them. Cover container and place in refrigerator for 2448 hours before using.
Grapefruit IPA Vinaigrette
- IPA 1/4 c
- Cider Vinegar 2 T
- Honey 1 T
- Rough Dijon Must. 2 t
- Grapefruit Zest 2 t
- Vegetable Oil 1/4 c
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Add IPA, vinegar, honey, mustard, and zest to a bowl, blender, or food processor. Add oil in a thin stream while whisking or blending. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
