PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The 412 Food Rescue is planning to start a home delivery service.
Extra food taken from grocery stores and restaurants will be dropped off to those that are most in need.
The need for social isolation during the COVID-19 crisis makes it much harder for vulnerable communities to reach food assistance. To respond to this need, 412 Food Rescue is working with our network of nonprofit partners to gradually ramp up Home Delivery – our technology and No Contact Rescue Protocol will provide safe home deliveries of food to those in need. ❤
Home delivery rescue opportunities will be rolling out to #FoodRescueHeroes in the coming weeks. Make sure your app is downloaded and notifications are turned ON! ????

The volunteers making deliveries will follow the CDC guidelines and also implement a no-contact protocol to protect themselves and those receiving the food.
