2nd Fire Breaks Out At Crafton Heights Home
CRAFTON HEIGHTS (KDKA) – A home in Crafton Heights went up in flames for a second time in 24 hours early Wednesday morning.
According to officials at the scene, the fire started at a home in the 1400-block of Rydal Street around 2 a.m.
Firefighters were called to the same house on Tuesday for an electrical fire in the basement, which was extinguished.
The second fire is believed to have started on the first floor and grew to two alarms. However, the utilities had been turned off after the first fire.
The family was home for the first fire, but no one was home when the second one started.
Fire officials said they have been to the house at least three times in the past for suspicious or undetermined fires.
"I don't know it's bad luck. I'm fortunate. I would say the circumstances over there are unfortunate," neighbor Pat Koziar said.
Arson investigators will be back at the scene on Wednesday.
