2 Charges Against Edgewood Dentist Dismissed

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Two charges against a local dentist who was accused of doing drugs before going to work on patients have been dismissed.

Back in February, Dr. Anthony Monteleone, 52, was arrested in the back parking lot of his office in Edgewood.

"There was a police officer observing what appeared to be drug use," Edgewood Police Chief Robert Payne said at the time. "It was outside the car."

"There is no evidence of cocaine possession, usage or impairment which indicates and is very important for Dr. Monteleone for everyone to know that there was no conduct which would have compromised any patient care with regard to this matter," Bob Del Greco, Monteleone's attorney, told KDKA-TV in March.

Today, two charges of possession of a controlled substance were dismissed. A charge of disorderly conduct was moved to "non-traffic."
