1 Injured After Jeannette Bar Shooting; Suspect In Custody

JEANNETTE (KDKA) --- Police in Westmoreland County are investigating after a shooting outside of bar in Jeannette.

Jeannette Police drove past Q-T's bar on Penn Avenue early Friday morning and saw a man outside who had been shot.

The officer was on the scene before witnesses could call 911.

"From reports we have from witnesses, the defendant approached victim inside bar and said he wanted to speak to him," says Jeannette Police Chief Brad Shepler. "[They] went outside and individuals at that time heard three shots."

The suspect has been identified as 35-year old Dameon Harrison.

Harrison was seen running from the bar after the shooting took place.

Jeannette Police chased him for a few blocks and used a taser before they took him into custody.

Chief Shepler praised his officer for a job well done.

"I think he did an outstanding job," Chief Shepler says. "[It was the] right place [at the] right time and everything just clicked."

Bullet holes were found outside of Q-T's bar. It is not clear if they are from this most recent shooting.

The victim has been identified as 29-year old Akeem Vance.

Vance remains in the hospital tonight.

"The victim sustained three shots, lower extremities and was flown to Allegheny County General Hospital," Chief Shepler says. "His injuries are not life threatening."

The shooter, Dameon Harrison, is charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.

Harrison is in jail, unable to post $250,000 bond.
