Hanoi's street barbers are a tradition that stretches back to the 18th century. On average a haircut will cost $1 to $4, depending on the fame of the barber and if you are a regular or not. Many of the barbers are ex-miltary personel, retired from service and looking to keep busy or to help cover weekly expenses for their families.
